Counseling & Personal Coaching
Sense of Self
Hi, I'm Rinat! I am a relational, somatic therapist.
I believe that people have a desire to feel seen and heard, and in that capacity, have the ability to heal and grow. My life's work is creating a safe, supportive and welcoming space for my clients. As a natural counselor with training in multiple therapeutic and coaching techniques, I have the ability to tailor unique support to each client. One size does not fit all. I attune and connect to my clients with intuition, seeing their essence, and provide effective reflections that give clients the tools and insights for clarity, fulfillment, and inner peace.
My clients report that I shift their perspective with gentle candor, humor, and humanness. I encourage them to see their inner power, enabling them to overcome blockages, be kind and gentle with themselves, and have the relationships and life they desire. I believe in the work and am devoted to whatever the journey may bring. I ask that my clients commit to themselves by showing up, have a willingness to work with their discomfort, and a desire to trust the process, even if they initially don't. I work with all types of people and relationships struggling with the wide array of challenges human emotion has given us.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from New York University, and a master’s degree in school counseling, with a focus in marriage and family therapy from Phillips Graduate University. I am a graduate of the ICF accredited coach training program Coach For Life, am certified and trained in reiki levels 1 and 2, and I studied at the Integrative Body Psychotherapy Central Institute to become an allied professional. I work with adult individuals, and specialize in couples.
Some fun facts: I have worked as a kindergarten teacher, a motivational dancer for weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, a case manager for egg donors and surrogates, a curriculum writer and teacher for teen empowerment programs, a social worker at the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office, and managed celebrity clientele at a spiritual institution. I traveled the world for six consecutive months with my family, landing in Portland eight weeks before COVID hit. In my free time, I love learning about stones, reiki, astrology, and the metaphysical. I especially relish in experiencing new and unusual things with my family, cutting loose in living room dance parties with my kids, making my husband laugh, and despite my best efforts, losing to him at Connect Four. Every time.
A personal approach to fit your needs
Support That Makes a Difference
Choose which modality works best for you – coaching or counseling, or both! Sense Of Self is coaching that creates a life full of possibility, and counseling that helps find and heal the source of your hardship, supporting you in your self love discovery because loving another begins with loving oneself. Gain clarity on what you want and need, learn how to focus your energy on living the life you desire, and get back to/continue to be your true self.
What is Personal Coaching?
Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.
How is coaching different from counseling?
Coaching focuses on the now and what is being created. It works on the “how” to solve a problem, whereas counseling focuses on the “why” of a struggle or blockage. Both modalities work on specific goals and changes. There is a notable overlap between the two approaches, and the specific goals one has for themself will determine whether they would benefit from counseling or coaching.
Counseling tends to concentrate on how someone is feeling, connecting to those emotions, working on resolving past pains and traumas, healing and releasing those emotions, and creating a corrective experience/perception shift. Coaching directs the client to build from the present moment, taking action and moving forward towards their desired goal, aspiration or need for fulfillment. The past is used only for informational purposes. In coaching we create goals that I hold you accountable for, in therapy we honor the journey as is and learn to fulfill your own emotional needs along the way.
Fees and services
Individual counseling 50 minutes $165
Couples counseling 50 minutes $175
Group counseling 90 minutes $75
The fee is payable by cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, or credit/debit card. At this time, I do not take insurance.
I see counseling clients in person only with the option for occasional teletherapy sessions for scheduling conflicts, emergencies, illness, or weather related issues. The in-person connection is vital to the kind of work we will do and the building of rapport. Coaching clients can choose online sessions if they are out of Oregon state, or live far from the Portland area.
